Marnie and Josh are married! This beautiful wedding took place at Marnie’s parent’s lake house on Gull Lake. The Brainerd Lakes Area is so gorgeous, I was super excited for this location! The weather on this day was nothing short of miraculous. The forecast called for a 100% chance of rain and storms ALL DAY, and we were even under a tornado watch for a good portion of the morning!
It stormed and poured rain in the morning while everyone was getting ready, and then it stopped JUST in time for the First Look! We had some clouds, but the rain held off for a couple of hours while we did photos and got set up for the ceremony. Then the SUN CAME OUT just for the ceremony and beach champagne toast with the wedding party afterward! The heavy rain then resumed just after everyone was safely tucked inside the reception barn. Talk about perfect timing!
The funny thing is, I met Marnie and Josh for their engagement photos in Duluth earlier this spring, when we also battled snow and wind for the first part of the day, only for the sun to come out just in time for their photos that afternoon! I think it’s a very good sign for them!
What a sweet wedding, these two are surrounded by such loving family and friends. What really stood out to me was how eagerly everyone pitched in to help with everything! From setting up decorations to moving chairs, the wedding party was always right there to assist with anything and everything. One of Marnie’s brothers officiated and did SUCH a great job, with the perfect mix of humor, sweetness, and love, it was one of the best ceremonies I’ve seen!
Marnie and Josh are simply wonderful, I loved getting to know them and be a part of their day. Marnie was such a beautiful bride, and she and Josh are so sweet together. It makes my job as a photographer so easy when there is so much obvious and abundant love and support at every point of the day. Scroll to enjoy a few photos of this lovely couple’s wedding day! Congratulations Marnie and Josh!
This geo design alter piece was such a perfect feature for this beautiful backyard wedding! And even better…the groom made it himself! Josh did such a great job with this!
I loved this! The bride and groom and their wedding party and families took a few minutes to themselves following the ceremony to have a champagne toast and sign the marriage license before joining their guests for the reception. What a great way to pause and share a special moment with your closest friends and family before the whirlwind of the reception.
