There were spotty chances of rain all day, which worried Katie a little, but I told her about the Wedding Rain Miracle, that I, and most photographers, experience all the time. This strange phenomenon that happens when rain is forecast for a wedding day, but weirdly doesn’t happen at all or does happen but stops at just the right moments for ceremony, photos, etc. And it happened for them. Perfect weather at all the right moments, plus a rainbow!
I met Katie and Landon in January for their engagement session and I loved them INSTANTLY. Katie came to me by way of her sister, Andrea. I have been photographing Andrea and her beautiful family for the past 3 years and I absolutely love them. So when Katie and Landon booked with me, I was super excited to get to know more of the family! These sisters are the sweetest thing; they have such a special bond, and are so adorable and kind; they’re the type of people that you instantly want to be friends with. (Katie is a fellow Swiftie, so that just made me love her more!) And Landon is one of the sweetest grooms I’ve ever worked with. He didn’t complain one bit about taking photos in the hot sun; he was such a trooper and clearly willing to do anything for Katie. Both sides of the family are so kind and clearly love and support this couple. Landon’s dad is the minister at Shiloh Baptist Church, and officiated the ceremony, which left not a single dry eye in the church. After photographing 200+ weddings over the last 14 years, I still get emotional over these special moments. This ceremony left me with tears streaming.
It was pretty much the closest thing you can get to a perfect wedding day, for the most deserving couple! Cheers to Mr and Mrs O’Neal!
