After a super fun lake day and grilling with the family, we grabbed the golf cart and snuck off down the road for a few couples photos, taken at the resort that used be owned by Jenna’s grandparents! A very special spot for a sweet couple, on a textbook gorgeous Minnesota summer lake night.

Frannie and Kail are married! Oh, this was such a sweet, FUN wedding! The ceremony was held at the historic 108 year old St Nicholas Catholic Church, and reception followed at the beautiful Rendezvous Farm (where we also did engagement photos last fall!) This wedding was FULL of smiles and laughter. If I had to describe the vibe of the day: joy and fun.

There were spotty chances of rain all day, which worried Katie a little, but I told her about the Wedding Rain Miracle, that I, and most photographers, experience all the time. This strange phenomenon that happens when rain is forecast for a wedding day, but weirdly doesn’t happen at all or does happen but stops at just the right moments for ceremony, photos, etc. And it happened for them. Perfect weather at all the right moments, plus a rainbow!

We had absolutely perfect weather all week; a serenely calm ocean, sunny blue skies, and on our final morning, a stunning full rainbow right in front of our beach house. You could not have asked for better conditions for a destination beach wedding.

Frannie and Kail are engaged! These two are SO MUCH FUN. If this engagement session is any indication of what a blast their wedding will be, I cannot wait! We met at Rendezvous Farm on a gorgeous Minnesota fall evening, and I didn’t need to direct these guys at all. Full of smiles and laughter, effortlessly comfortable and free in front of the camera, and so connected… they made my job as a photographer so easy (and did I mention FUN?!). And that evening light through fall leaves just cannot be beat.
